ABOUT FROSTBOX

We produce a refrigeration system for chilled storage containers like fishboxes on boats.

Our design extends the life of ice in your fishbox so your catch stays cold and fresh.

We use a dual-phase refrigeration system and high-mounted, perimeter coils that create a unique and powerful cooling solution.

That's why it's Patented.

WHY FROSTBOX?

A boat manufacturer came to us and asked for this product. They were tired of the problems they had with existing freezer plate technology. They wanted something better for you...

We built this product because we knew it would perform better.  It was designed to be tough enough to operate well in a fishing boat at sea.

A real solution for a real boat

You've bought a high end boat.  Don't equip it with a mediocre solution that will likely let you down.  Your fishing trips are worth FROSTBOX.

FROSTBOX delivers an optimal thermodynamic design.

Warm air rises.  That's why we put our coils at the top of your fishbox.  We intercept it, defeat it, and put it back to work cooling your box.

As the air cools, it cascades over multiple coils delivering supercold chilling to the air/ice interface. Our coil design maximizes the cooling surface area.

FROSTBOX: Colder, Stronger,  Cleaner, "Green-er",  More Durable

  • Colder - We run cooling liquid that stays below 15 degrees thru stainless steel pipes.

  • Stronger -  1/2 inch stainless steel coils surround your fishbox with unparalleled strength.

  • Cleaner - Full access to all of the FROSTBOX surfaces.  Power wash them if you want to.  It's stainless steel.

  • Greener - No CFC aerosols in your fishbox that can deplete the ozone layer if they leak.

  • More Durable - Stainless in the box and flexible tubing carrying the cooling liquid. No rigid pipes like the competition uses that can't stand up to the harsh environment

FROSTBOX TECHNOLOGY

A dual stage cooling system

Stage 1 - Sea Water cools a refrigerant in Heat Exchange 1

Stage 2 -  In Heat Exchange 2, the Refrigerant superchills a Cooling Liquid that runs through the coils.

The Cooling liquid creates a huge mass of cooling energyin the box which:

  • Brings temperatures down faster

  • Stores more cooling energy to recover after opening or adding a fish

  • Cooling Liquid Stays below 15 degrees through the entire run through the coils

Competition cooling system uses sea water and refrigerant only.

Here's the competition...

  • Competitors often install a false wall in your fishbox and they install their sensitive equipment behind it.

    • Debris, fish blood, grime, and filth can get behind that wall.

    • When the boat deck is installed, that space is inaccessible

    • You can't get at it so you can't clean it.

  • The openings in the top and bottom of the freezer plates allow the same unhealthy mix to embed itself in the plates.

  • Some boaters pour bleach into the box to get behind the wall and kill bacteria to get rid of the smell.

  • In the long term, salt water and cleansers do damage to the equipment and it fails.

  • On top of all that, you give up almost 9 inches of your fishbox.

Competitor’s cooling systems

  • Single stage systems cool refrigerant with sea water and the  refrigerant goes to the plate

  • They are prone to leaking potentially ozone depleting refrigerant

  • The refrigerant loses its all of its cooling energy before it leaves the plate

  • Plates have less than 1/2 the cooling surface area of FROSTBOX coils
